The Burnaby Art Gallery Presents an Art Rental Showcase
(BURNABY, BC)   The Burnaby Art Gallery is pleased to present Art Rental Showcase February 11  - 27, 2011.  As part of the Burnaby Art Gallery's commitment to emerging and established artists from the Metro Vancouver region, the Burnaby Art Gallery is pleased to showcase artworks by BC artists for rent and for purchase.  The exhibition will showcase the diversity of the gallery's holdings from its Get the Picture Art Rental & Sales<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca/Home/ArtRentalandSales/ArtistsandArtwork.aspx> program.  Participating BC artists include: Ross Bollerup, Danny Chen, Dorothy Haegert, Toni Onley, Mike Radford, writer/artist Joe Rosenblatt, and Sylvia Tait, along with two featured Burnaby artists: Susan Gransby<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca/Home/ArtRentalandSales/ArtistsandArtwork/SusanGransby.aspx> and James Mah<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca/Home/ArtRentalandSales/ArtistsandArtwork/JamesMah.aspx>.

In partnership with Culture Blast: An Arts Explosion, featured artists Susan Gransby and James Mah will be in attendance at the gallery on Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 2 - 5pm to give a talk and demonstration on the techniques, tools and tips they use to create their works of art.

Susan Gransby<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca/Home/ArtRentalandSales/ArtistsandArtwork/SusanGransby.aspx> is an established printmaker whose etchings, linocuts, monotypes and mixed-media works on paper have been exhibited across Canada, Japan, Spain, Finland, Peru, and the United States. Working out of her Burnaby studio, her prints are in several Canadian public galleries and corporate collections.

James Mah<http://www.burnabyartgallery.ca/Home/ArtRentalandSales/ArtistsandArtwork/JamesMah.aspx> is a painter who works from his home studio in Burnaby.  He came into printmaking fairly late in his artistic career and his interest in the press is not in its ability to make multiples but its power to transform images. He is currently working on illustrations for selected poems from Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal.
