[BCMA] community archives

Hello,
The Hornby Island Community Archives is about to build a small building to house the archive collection plus office and public research space.  Needless to say our budget it small and our plans modest!  

I am wondering what other small communities have built new archives buildings?  I would love to benefit from their experience and advice.  Any information on building for the proper care of a collection would be valuable.  I am aware of the principles of climate control etc - but would like to know exactly how to accomplish the requirements in a modest low tech way.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
