FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Cross-Canada Collective Devours the Stage at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts
BURNABY, BC -  The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, with the Vancouver International Dance Festival, present SiNS (Sometimes in Nova Scotia) British Columbia premiere of Hungry Like the Wolf.  SiNS is a collective of dance artists who come together to create exciting contemporary dance work in Nova Scotia and promote Nova Scotian talent beyond their own provincial and regional borders.  At the core of SiNS are its three co-founders: Jacinte Armstrong, Susanne Chui, and Sara Coffin. "Sometimes in Nova Scotia" (and sometimes beyond), Armstrong, Chui and Coffin endeavour to build collaborative opportunities between Nova Scotia and abroad.  Since its inception in 2005, SiNS has participated in many innovative projects, collaborated with a range of national and international dance artists, and has performed across Nova Scotia, as well as in New Brunswick, Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria.  In 2007, SiNS began a namesake series of works inspired by each of the seven deadly SINS. Taking greed as a departure point for exploration, HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF  is the 4th work in the series and the first commissioned work from a guest choreographer.

Presented by the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in conjunction with the Vancouver International Dance Festival, SiNS (Sometimes in Nova Scotia) Dance brings to the stage the BC premiere of Hungry Like the Wolf .  Choreographed by Vancouver's Daelik (co-artistic director of MACHiNENOiSY) and performed by a coast-to-coast cast, Hungry Like the Wolf is a modern day morality play set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia.  Inspired by greed, the piece explores hoarding and excess in a world where there is almost nothing left to take.  After a successful world premiere in Halifax in Live Art Dance Productions' 2010-2011 season, in October, 2010, SiNS is taking the piece on tour, bringing together an exciting mix of East and West Coast artists to delight audiences and share their contemporary take on this timeless sin.
