FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Acclaimed Cellist and Vocalist Kevin Fox Returns to the Shadbolt Centre to Wow Us with the Western Canadian Premiere of his CD: Set Right

BURNABY, BC -  He's baaaackkk! Acclaimed musician, Kevin Fox, is back by popular demand.  Kevin, who captivated audiences at the Shadbolt in 2009 with a live performance of his lyrical CD, Songs for Cello and Voice, has Shadbolt Centre audience members saving the date for his anticipated return and western Canadian premiere of his third album, Set Right.  One of the Shadbolt Centre's season subscribers, Linne Redford, attended last year and is attending not one, but both performances this time. "It was the most enjoyable concert that I saw all year; a very diversified performer - he takes the audience with him on his musical journey."
Although Kevin Fox has been spending the last few years touring and composing arrangements for the likes of Justin Bieber and Kathleen Edwards, recording with artists as diverse as Raine Maida and Celine Dion, and touring extensively with musicians ranging from Chantal Kreviazuk and Steven Page to Tom Cochrane and Olivia Newton-John, he has somehow found the time to write and record Set Right.
Kevin Fox's latest effort is certainly his most focused, cohesive collection of songs to date and firmly moves him into the popular genre.  Where both Come Alive and Songs for Cello and Voice were created around a particular style of instrumentation, Set Right has been produced in a more organic manner that aims to serve the song first, allowing the instrumentation to take on more of a supporting role.  This is not to say that Kevin's signature instrument, the cello, doesn't continue to play a large role and even occasionally take centre stage.  From songs like the melodic 'Inside' to the more pop driven title track 'Set Right', Kevin continues to demonstrate his unique approach to the use of cello in the pop song.  Fans of Kevin's one-of-a-kind style of reinterpreting popular songs by other artists using only his cello, looping pedal and voice will not be disappointed.  He has included two cover songs on the album: a haunting treatment of Joni Mitchell's 'River' as well as a breathtaking version of Paul Simon's 'Diamonds On The Souls Of Her Shoes'.
Kevin returns this season with his new CD and his warm and inviting performance style.
