Job Creation Partnership Projects
The Langley Centennial Museum with the Township of Langley is seeking two motivated individuals to participate in a Job Creation Partnership Schools/ Education Programs project.
Individuals will be helping Museum staff plan and develop quality programs for children.
This initiative, funded by the Province of British Columbia under the Employment & Labour Market Services, enables participants to receive benefits while experiencing the opportunity to enhance or maintain their employment skills and develop a network of future employers.
These opportunities are open only to individuals who are currently receiving unemployment benefits or have done so in the past 36 months or to individuals who are returning to work for the first time following a maternity/paternity leave within the past 5 years.
Skills include: communication abilities, both spoken and written; research skills - internet, database, library and archives; competent knowledge of Microsoft Word; MS Publisher and/or other design software; familiarity with the development and creation of educational programs is an asset, but not required.
Consideration will be given to those candidates who have backgrounds and/or education in the areas of history, art, science and teaching.
These full time opportunities are contracted for a term of 20 weeks until March 31, 2012 or until the participants obtain employment.
Applicants must be E. I. eligible.
These work experience opportunities are defined by the Township of Langley as being within a position of trust (Child Safety) and require a criminal record check.
