[BCMA] The Boy in the Picture, by Ray Argyle

We have been carrying Ray Argyle’s book, The Boy in the Picture, in our gift shop through a partnership with Dundurn Press.  The book was produced in 2010, the same year as the 125th anniversary of the driving of the Last Spike, and features a semi-fictionalized account of the circumstances that landed the boy in the middle of the well-known photograph of the 1885 event at Craigellachie.  The book has had great reviews and we were privileged to have had Ray Argyle at our museum for Railway Days 2010 to conduct a talk as part of a book launch.  Ray wrote the book following extensive research that included a personal interview, many years ago, with the man, who was ‘the boy’, Edward Mallandine.
