Summer Employment Opportunity (Young Canada Works)
Position: Fund Development and Marketing Assistant
The Delta Museum and Archives Society is seeking a temporary (summer)
full-time (35 hrs/wk) Fund Development and Marketing Assistant (FDMA)
Duties and Responsibilities
The FDMA will:
Participate in the planning, preparation and presentation of a successful
fundraising event for DMAS;
Assist with the development and production of promotional and
communication materials for DMAS;
Update/maintain the donor management database , ensure accuracy of
contacts information and identify the numbers of new and known supporters
of DMAS for future fundraising events, campaigns and recognition
opportunities; and
· Participate in the DMAS major summer special event on Canada Day.
Qualifications
Candidate must fulfill all of the eligibility requirements of the YCW
Program, including registration on the YCW web site.
Ongoing studies in the following preferred: Bachelor of Arts: Business
Communications Degree, or Graduate Certificate in Non-profit Fund
Development, or studies related marketing, communications, journalism and/or
non-profit management
Engaging interpersonal skills; practical training and/or experience
working with the public
Excellent written and oral skills in English
Excellent computer skills with demonstrated ability to use a variety of
software
A valid BC drivers license is preferred, as is access to occasional use
of an automobile.
Term of Employment:
22 May to 18 August 2012; Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00am to 4:30pm, with a
half-hour unpaid lunch, and occasional Sunday or Monday.
Rate of pay: $13.72/hr + 4% in lieu of vacation. All DMAS summer students
are members of CUPE 454.
This position is dependent on grant funding.
