Regina museum curator creating a buzz for farmers
Regina Leader-Post Share/Partager
Behind the unlikely facade of a brick building in Regina, Cory Sheffield sits in his office, using a new,
$50,000 camera setup to do what no one else has - photograph, identify and categorize tens of thousands
of Canadian bees. Sheffield is the Royal Saskatchewan Museum's new curator of invertebrate zoology and,
with the help of a U-Haul truck, lugged somewhere between 50,000 and 70,000 of the insects from his
former office in Toronto to the Prairies. More/LIRE PLUS

If you see a large number of military vehicles in Fort St. John, don't be alarmed. The Canadian Western
Command Military Vehicle Society is in town as part of its celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the building
of the Alaska Highway. The convoy of privately-owned vehicles are travelling the distance of the highway to
Fairbanks, Alaska. The vehicles have been through various military efforts, like World War II, Korea,
Vietnam and Desert Storm. More/LIRE PLUS

Every five years, dOCUMENTA attracts hundreds of thousands of people to Kassel, Germany with an

Standing in front of that woolly mammoth exhibit, you might crave more information than what's printed on
the display card at the stuffed beast's foot. If you happen to be at the Royal BC Museum, in Victoria,
Canada, though, you need only look down at your smartphone. More/LIRE PLUS
Parks Canada: Exhibits added to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site
The Canadian Press Share/Partager
New exhibits in the visitor centre and on the grounds of L'Anse aux Meadows explain the Norse history of
the national historic site, says Parks Canada. The additions are among major upgrades that have been
completed at the site of the first European presence in North America. Special 'flame sculptures' have also
been installed at the locations of known aboriginal hearths to commemorate native cultures associated with
L'Anse aux Meadows. More/LIRE PLUS
Open house at aviation museum
Victoria Times Colonist Share/Partager
If a plane or helicopter has flown over British Columbia, it is likely to be preserved at the B.C. Aviation
Museum. On Saturday, the museum opens its hangar doors to the public at its annual open house. The
museum collects, restores and displays aircraft and artifacts related to aviation in Canada, with the
emphasis on B.C. aviation. More/LIRE PLUS
