On January 26 we will screen Greeting the Lunar New Year in Taiwan
followed by lively discussion with Dr. Jordan Paper on the role of
religion and culture in Chinese New Year festivities. On February 2
instructor Li Chuang will lead a lantern-making workshop in preparation
for the Festival the following month. And finally, it will all wrap up
with our Chinese New Year Celebration on February 4th, with a tour of
The Enduring Arts of China exhibition from Asian Art Curator Barry Till,
a talk on cultural and religious motifs in Chinese art with
Cross-Cultural Specialist Li Chuang, a vibrant Chinese Lantern
exposition, traditional riddles & games, and much more!
Programs are included free with Gallery admission, with the exception of
the Lantern-workshop which requires advance registration and costs $15 |
$8 for members.
Stay tuned for more exciting programming in the Spring exploring our
community's cultural history and identity.
And if you can’t make it out tonight, don’t forget that tomorrow we are
