[BCMA] Piano available

Hello, everyone,

 

I have just been contacted by a lady here in Creston with an urgent need to
dispose of an antique upright piano. She is downsizing and cannot take it
with her.

 

It is a Mason-Risch upright, approximately 129 years old as determined by
the serial numbers, in very good condition The felts are in good shape; the
ivories intact except for a little chipping along the front edges but with
virtually no discolouration, and the cabinet is perfect. It's in good tune
right now and completely playable, and has beautiful tone.

 

Anyone need a lovely piano for the parlour of an historic house?  She has
offered it to the Creston Museum, but unfortunately we do not have the
facilities to maintain it in its current condition. She is willing to donate
it to a museum or similar organisation who can give it a good home.

 

She needs to be out of her house by next Thursday, June 28. You will need to
make arrangements to move it to your location, and take care of any
associated costs, but given the short time frame I can offer a short-term
storage here at the Museum if that helps.

 

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested, and I will put
you in touch with the donor.
