on Beautiful Vancouver Island

The Campbell River Museum & Archives Society Board is seeking a dynamic
Executive Director to be responsible for all aspects of Museum
administration, operation and development, and to serve as its chief
spokesperson.

Operated by a non-profit society, the Museum at Campbell River has an
ethnology and history collection and archives reflective of northern
Vancouver Island and the surrounding islands and inlets.  The key priorities
to ensure the ongoing success of this progressive, award winning, widely
acclaimed Class 'A' Museum are:

*	The completion and execution of a strategic growth plan.
*	The development and implementation of enhanced fundraising
strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

*	Related senior-level experience.
*	A consultative, decisive team management style.
*	Proven strengths in financial and human resource management.
*	Exceptional interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
*	Extensive experience with Board development, fundraising, planning
and grant writing.
*	The ability to interface effectively with varied constituencies
including local and provincial governments.
*	A familiarity with and keen interest in First Nations culture.
*	Above all, a strong sense of mission and desire to lead a
significant Canadian Museum.

While prior museum experience in a senior role is desired, equal
consideration will be given to those candidates who possess a proven
management track record in another sector, preferably in a non-profit
setting.
