Iconic University of Calgary art gallery returns in new and improved space
Metro Calgary Share/Partager
After a two-year relocation process, the new Nickle Galleries has opened its doors to the public. Formerly
known as The Nickle Arts Museum, the iconic University of Calgary art space is now part of the Taylor
Family Digital Library, one of the busiest buildings on campus. More/LIRE PLUS

More/LIRE PLUS

Mapping world history
Victoria Times Colonist Share/Partager
Historical maps illustrate more than what was known of the physical world at any one time. Such maps
reveal how people imagined the world looked - even how they thought it should look. A new exhibit at the
Royal B.C. Museum - Envisioning the World: The First Printed Maps, 1472-1700 - brings together 30
maps, mostly from the collection of Henry Wendt of Friday Harbor, Washington. More/LIRE PLUS

Welland museum needs elevator
Welland Tribune Share/Partager
The museum needs a new elevator, the Merritt Park amphitheatre needs a place for wheelchairs to park,
and audio messages are needed at intersection crosswalks throughout the city. The projects the committee
hopes to tackle in 2013 will cost about $170,000, unless upper-tier government grants can help offset the
costs. More/LIRE PLUS

Ottawa exhibit explores natural disasters
QMI Agency Share/Partager
Family fun in Ottawa always includes a day of museum-hopping. Those looking to entertain a budding
scientist might want to head down to The Canadian Museum of Nature for their new exhibit Nature
Unleashed: Inside Natural Disasters that runs from Sept. 28 to May 5, 2013. More/LIRE PLUS

Museum awarded for mobile tours
Kenora Online Share/Partager
The Lake of the Woods Museum is being recognized for their mobile tours. The museum will be receiving
the Ontario Museum Association award of excellence for special projects. Museum director Lori Nelson
says they are excited to be recognized. More/LIRE PLUS

culturel? More/LIRE PLUS
