Mapping world history

Historical maps illustrate more than what was known of the physical world at any one time. Such maps
reveal how people imagined the world looked - even how they thought it should look. A new exhibit at the
Royal B.C. Museum - Envisioning the World: The First Printed Maps, 1472-1700 - brings together 30
maps, mostly from the collection of Henry Wendt of Friday Harbor, Washington. More/LIRE PLUS
Welland museum needs elevator
Welland Tribune Share/Partager
The museum needs a new elevator, the Merritt Park amphitheatre needs a place for wheelchairs to park,
and audio messages are needed at intersection crosswalks throughout the city. The projects the committee
hopes to tackle in 2013 will cost about $170,000, unless upper-tier government grants can help offset the
costs. More/LIRE PLUS

Le Devoir Share/Partager
Entretien avec le sociologue Guy Bellevance, en complément au dossier du Devoir sur la transmission de
la culture, à l'occasion des Journées de la culture. Les Journées de la Culture encouragent-elles un rapport

culturel? More/LIRE PLUS
