The perpetual crisis at Toronto's Power Plant gallery
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
There's always something happening at The Power Plant in Toronto, and has been ever since its founding
25 years ago on the Lake Ontario waterfront as the most influential not-for-profit exhibitor of contemporary
art in Canada. And sometimes the fuss actually has to do with the art. More/LIRE PLUS

More/LIRE PLUS

How the arts in Canada lost its mojo
Rabble Share/Partager
Talk within Canada's arts communities today has become as predictable as office politics, a projection of
disengaged management fueled by personal anxieties. Discussions revolve vaguely around the need for
'interpretive creativity' and 'strategic innovation,' and, naively, for more public funding. This is a huge
problem for the industry's future. More/LIRE PLUS

Alexandre Taillefer: accro à l'art contemporain
More/LIRE PLUS

collective. More/LIRE PLUS

6 design firms vying for WAG Inuit art centre
Winnipeg Free Press Share/Partager
The Winnipeg Art Gallery has shortlisted six architectural teams from Canada, the United States and
Japan for the design of its Inuit Art and Learning Centre, to be erected next door to its current building. The
teams will prepare expanded proposals, make presentations to the selection committee and vie for the
contract to design the building. More/LIRE PLUS

A graffitist who works on the city's dime
The Globe and Mail Share/Partager
On a humid morning recently, the acclaimed British visual artist Mark Titchner was strolling down Queen
West toward his new studio at the Art Gallery of Ontario, battling a case of jet lag while taking in the area's
'organic' graffiti mural scene. "There's actually a lot of stuff up on the walls here," he observed, "actually
more than in London." More/LIRE PLUS

Major partnership renewals will continue to bring world-class Art to the AGA
Art Daily Share/Partager
Albertans will continue to enjoy Canada's national art treasures for another three (3) years. The Art Gallery
of Alberta, along with the National Gallery of Canada (NGC), announced that their partnership has been
renewed for 2013-2015. Known as The National Gallery of Canada at the Art Gallery of Alberta, or
NGC at AGA, this exciting initiative will continue to allow AGA Members and visitors to enjoy presentations
of work by prominent Canadian and international artists-from contemporary art in all media to old masters.

The Canada Science and Technology Museum wants your kitchen appliances
OpenFile Ottawa Share/Partager
Well, not literally. They probably have their own microwaves and slow cookers and toasters that leave
smiley-face imprints in your bread. Rather, the museum wants to know what 21st century kitchen
appliances they should preserve for future generations. More/LIRE PLUS
