[BCMA] mystery object

[Moderated BCMA subscriber listserv.]

Hello Everyone,

 

We were wondering if someone would be able to identify the attached
object.  Our best guess is that it's a pickaroon/hookaroon tool of some
kind.  Would anyone know more specifics?

 

It's 15 inches in length, with a wood handle and a metal hook end.
