[BCMA] Program Director, Cultural Management at UVic

Hello BCMA Colleagues… after 30+ years managing the Cultural Resource Management Program and all its affiliated cultural heritage and social justice programs, I am stepping away to take on a new role as Director of Special Projects with the Division of External Relations at UVic. This builds on several secondments that I’ve held in recent years and promises to be a very interesting posting.
But I leave Continuing Studies with some sadness, as working with Cultural Management Programs has been a wonderful experience. I’ve met fascinating people from all over the world, networked across the national and international cultural sectors, designed some challenging programs and courses, and enjoyed the variety and flexibility of the Continuing Studies work environment.  This is part of the reason that I’m writing…. the position is now posted (https://uhire.uvic.ca/cgi-bin/WebObjects/uhire.woa/wa/vacancy?id=22392&displayGrp1=1 )and I wanted to ensure that people with an interest in specializing in professional education in the cultural heritage sector know about it! It offers a wonderful way to take a very broad and constructive perspective on museum and heritage practice. You should note that the full salary range is noted on page 54 of the PEA Collective agreement (http://web.uvic.ca/hr/collectiveagree/).
I look forward to seeing many of you at the BCMA conference -- I plan to stay involved with the cultural heritage sector through a variety of projects and committees, so will stay in touch. All the best to all of you, Joy
