Canada's History is seeking nominations for the 2013 Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Community Programming.
The award recognizes innovative programs that share and preserve unique aspects of their community's history. We're looking for exhibits, public programs, or events that highlight local or cultural history. Two recipients (1 French and 1 English) will win a trip to Ottawa, where they will receive their award from His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston during a once-in-a-lifetime ceremony at Rideau Hall. Recipients will also attend the Canada's History Forum and the TD History-Makers Celebration Dinner. A cash prize of $2,500 is generously provided by Spectra Energy Corp.
The deadline for completed applications is August 14, 2013.
