[BCMA] Suggestions for Replacing Database System

I'm still a strong proponent of MS Access as a flexible, customizable local
database. The links to other Office programs make it very powerful.
That being said there are many cloud based online systems availble now that
offload support work to someone else (with some loss of flexibility

I am looking for input in regards to replacing a database system for our
Natural History Museum at Vancouver Island University. Currently we use
the free program –Biota—however find it is getting archaic with the newer
operating systems as well as not the easiest to introduce new users too.****
We are interested in finding what is working well in smaller museums (we
have under 10,000 items in our collection), affordable and with good
support.****
