A Chance for Peace in Korea
Okanagan Military Museum opens new exhibit in honour of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War.
The Kelowna Museums Society is proud to announce the opening of the new exhibit, A Chance for Peace in Korea, in the Okanagan Military Museum. The exhibit profiles the relationship between North and South Korea since the end of the Korean War in 1953, with discussions of the tensions and diplomatic attempts for peace in the region. It also examines the relationship between the Koreas, Japan, China, Russia and the United States in today’s changing political climate. This exhibit is open now and will be a great stop for your summer guests as it will be available for viewing throughout the summer.
The Okanagan Military Museum is open Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Summer hours go into effect in May when the museum will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Kelowna Museums Society is a not for profit, charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of a greater interest and awareness of the military, agriculture, wine producing and cultural heritages of the Okanagan Region through collection, preservation, exhibition and interpretation. The main office of the Kelowna Museums Society is located at 470 Queensway Avenue and is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
