The Vancouver Women’s University Club invites you to attend an evening of great, swinging gypsy jazz, featuring the string trio the Django Experience. Held in the elegant drawing room of the Hycroft mansion, the Django Experience will perform the music of Django Reinhardt, the legendary Belgian guitarist who revolutionized the jazz genre with his virtuosic stylings. The Django Experience is sure to transport listeners to 1940s Paris.

In the spirit of the great 1960s talk show television programme Jazz Casual, the concert will also include a discussion with the musicians about the stories and people behind the music, hosted by journalist and jazz saxophonist Erin Millar.

To celebrate the opening of the 2013/14 Jazz Casual season, Hycroft is offering an elegant dinner to precede the concert.

Future concerts this season will include the Three Wise Men jazzy Christmas trio, gospel Sunday hosted by vocalist Dawn Pemberton and award-winning special guests from Toronto including vocalist Maureen Kennedy and drummer Morgan Childs.

Visit www.uwcvancouver.ca for the full series lineup.

Join us for this second season of intimate, jazz gatherings in one of Vancouver’s most beautiful heritage houses.
