[BCMA] Request for joint exhibits 2015

Hello all,

As The Alberni Project (TAP) gets ready to celebrate our first year in our wonderful new facility in Comox on September 1, TAP is entering the final months of a very successful YEAR OF THE VETERAN - 2014 with joint exhibits and guest displays from other BC museums and organizations to honour various aspects of our Canadian Veterans and their service to Canada. We just closed a highly popular exhibit ONE WAR, TWO VICTORIES courtesy of the Chinese Canadian Military Museum of Vancouver and will be closing CREATURE COMFORTS - Animals of the Royal Canadian Navy from the Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt Naval and Military Museum this coming weekend. We will be finishing up our year's schedule with guest units from Comox Air Force Museum, the RCMP and the BC Submariners Association just prior to our month long Remembrance Month in November.

We are now setting up our 2015 exhibit season and would like to invite other BC museums to participate in joint exhibits or displays here at TAP which could be on the subject of the following:

The Gumboot Navy of Canada during WWII
Life on the home front during WWII
War Brides
War Correspondence over the years
Aboriginal Veterans of WWII
Agriculture during WWII
The liberation of Belgium or the Netherlands/Canadian-Dutch heritage.
Children in times of war

And we are open to other displays or exhibits which may be tied into the history of Canada or BC during the years between 1935 and soon after the Korean War era. Our guest exhibits do not have to tie in specifically to the Royal Canadian Navy or to WWII.

We are hoping that some other BCMA member museums may already have retired display materials or ideas of outside resources that our staffing and fund strapped museum can utilize for our small museum sometime during our 2015 season.
