Events and Marketing Coordinator
Job Description
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all exhibitions, events and programs offered by and at The Reach in order to effectively generate marketing, promotional and PR campaigns.
- Update and maintain The Reach's website, ensuring that all information is current and accurate. Monitor and report website analytics to the Executive Director. Work with outside web designers and developers on maintaining and improving the website.
- Design and distribute in-house promotional print material, including posters, flyers, brochures, banners, rack cards, and more.
- Lead effective social media campaigns across all platforms to promote exhibitions, events and programs, including audience development, content creation and analytics monitoring and reporting.
- Create, design and distribute The Reach's bi-weekly e-newsletter, working with senior staff to ensure information is accurate.
- Design, coordinate and report on the annual visitor survey.
- Coordinate and administer the Young Contemporaries at The Reach project, including membership development and retention, event coordination and other administrative tasks as required.
- Work with the Director of Development to develop sponsorship and grant proposals, draft press releases, reports and other public relations documents.
- In consultation with staff, develop, implement and evaluate events and programs.
- Communicate with outside and partner organizations/individuals/schools regarding programs and events.
- Assist staff and community groups with events, programs and rentals including acting as technical director and operator, gallery attendant and/or front of house. Coordinate and manage some public events including film nights.
- Track and report on visitor statistics to ensure that attendance targets are being met.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
* 1 - 2 years of experience in marketing & communications, event planning, and other related fields, preferably in a non-profit setting.
* Computer literacy is essential including demonstrated experience with multimedia tools and social media.
* Experience using Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign for graphic design, along with a working knowledge of HTML and CSS is essential.
* Experience in Drupal, photography, videography and/or sound & lighting equipment would be an asset.
* Knowledge of or interest in visual arts and/or heritage.
* Ability to take projects through from concept to final production.
* Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Type: Part-time, permanent
Hours: 24 hrs/week; some evening and weekend work as required.
Remuneration: $17/hr
