Hi Elizabeth,

I recommend ConsinmentTill, particularly if any portion of your gift shop
sales are on consignment. It is specifically designed for shops selling on
consignment and also handles "buy-outright" retail items. It provides
automated POS transactions, inventory control, commission payouts,
printable reports, label/tag barcode printing and a bunch of other
capabilities. It is the product of a northern BC company
http://www.rjfsoft.com/ but it is used all over North America.

Greetings everyone:

We have been using a Winward Speedy POS system to manage stock and track
sales in the Museum gift shop. Winward is no longer going to support this
program and are offering to migrate us to a more current and deluxe
version. The old version had far more bells and whistles than we ever
thought of using so, before we accept the offer, I am just wondering if
anyone else is using a POS system that they would recommend. We have a
relatively small operation with only one cash. ( For comparison purposes
we have been paying $350- $400 per year annual support and the upgrade is
offered at $1,500) so we would be interested in less costly alternatives.

Thanks for any input. Please email me directly.
