Anxiety Society Drawing Jam
Thursday, June 5, 7:00 pm


Taking inspiration from the contemporary Surrealist works in Unreal, on Thursday June 5, the Kamloops Art Gallery is hosting a free drop-in drawing night in our Ken Lepin and Tricia Sellmer studios.

Surrealism developed in part as a response to political and economic strife caused by the Great Wars centered in Europe. Contemporary life is subject to some of the same instabilities and inequalities that characterized this period in history.

Using automatic and collaborative processes, we will draw the fears and phobias (great and small) that stem from the uncertainty of this age, creating an index of contemporary fears as we experience them. Finished works will be displayed in the Education Room in our Central Galleries until June 14.

No pre-registration or experience is required for this free all-ages event.
