What: Election Forum

Where: The Vernon Public Art Gallery

When: Thursday November 6th, at 6pm

 

Do you have specific questions regarding the future of arts and culture in
Greater Vernon?

 

The Vernon Public Art Gallery invites the public to attend an election forum
addressing questions of interest to the arts and culture community. Meet
your local politicians and gain knowledge to be able to make an informed
vote in this upcoming election. 

 

Vernon Arts and Cultural groups will also be in attendance.

"The adequacy of political support for culture has been and continues to be
a live issue in Vernon and the surrounding areas.  Although much of the
conversation has focussed on the need for facilities such as an Art Gallery,
there is a list of organizations, including the museum for instance, who
have pointed out vocally and repeatedly that the services they provide are
stunted because of their inadequate infrastructure or operational support.
We are therefore inviting the mayoral and council candidates to address us,
and offer their vision and, hopefully, their ideas for how they would answer
the important and long-standing questions about how best to support culture
in our community."
