I have a reed organ which I can no longer keep as I must down-size and
have no room for it. I hate to just take it to the garbage dump and
wonder if any museum or anyone is interested in obtaining it.
Reed Organ made by Dominion Organ & Piano Co., Bowmanville, Ont,
Canada. Original manufacture date is unknown, but there are a few
names on the back of the keyboard; a signature W. Mosshead (might be
someone who worked on it); A. Sutton Apr. 25/98 (I assume it was
1898);F. Bosseyberry Berliss June 9,1917; Hazel Popoff (Strelioff, my
mother) 1923; Norm Reimer approx.1997. He re-did the bellows and had
about 3 reeds replaced, made by a man in Vermont, unfortunately I'm
not sure I can find the name.
My mother had a buyer purchase it for her and shipped it to Blaine
Lake, Sask. in 1923. In the 1990s the bellows deteriorated and she
was unsuccessful in obtaining the correct material or someone to
replace it. On my mother's passing in 1994 I brought it out to South
Surrey hoping to restore, Mr. Reimer did the work on it. If there are
any questions I'd be happy to answer them if I can.
