They are yours! There’s someone around here Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 – 12:00 and 1:00-4:00 until this Saturday (December 12), then we’ll be closed over the holidays until January 5. If your member’s daughter just wants to give me a call, we can make sure everything’s all packed up and ready for her.

Subject: [BCMA] Deaccessioned Artifacts

Hello, everyone,

The Creston Museum is just beginning to undertake a major reorganisation and deaccessioning project. Below is the first of probably many lists of things we are removing from our collections. This one is adding machines, typewriters, and the like, plus a couple of display cases and some random other objects, including some West Coast First Nations carvings that, as far as I can tell, were carved by someone who was not in any way connected to any First Nations community.

These are being offered to other museums on a first-come, first-served basis. Receiving museums are responsible for collecting the objects or paying for shipping from Creston.

Because this is a long, on-going process, we want to move these things out very quickly to make way for the next lot of artifacts. Please let me know by 2 December 2015 if you are interested in any of these objects, so we can make arrangements to get them to you by the middle of January.
