Free Admission Thursdays a Huge Success at Kelowna Art Gallery


December 14, 2015 - Kelowna, BC: Locals as well as visitors to Kelowna have been taking advantage of the FREE Admission Thursdays! program offered at the Kelowna Art Gallery during the last year.

Every Thursday from 10 am until closing at 9 pm, complimentary admission is offered to Gallery visitors. People can enjoy current exhibitions, take in a scheduled artist's talk, or get creative in the Art Lab. The program is made possible through a partnership with, and the generous support of, the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort and Conference Centre.

"This was something we immediately felt we had to support," says Daniel Bibby, General Manager at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort & Conference Centre. "For years we have encouraged our guests to take the time to visit the Gallery - our neighbour just across the street. It felt like the perfect way to support visual arts in the community, which is important to us, as well as the chance to offer something special to residents and our guests."

Located in the heart of Kelowna's Cultural District, the Kelowna Art Gallery welcomes everyone to explore the four exhibition spaces that showcase a variety of work by local, regional, and nationally recognized artists. The Gallery also offers a wide selection of public programs for all ages, including Family Sundays, held each Sunday from 1 to 4 pm, which explores different themes through guided hands-on art activities.

"We are so excited to be able to offer this program to the community," says Nataley Nagy, Executive Director at the Kelowna Art Gallery. "We feel FREE Admission Thursdays! is a wonderful way to ensure everyone has access to the Gallery and we invite the whole community to please plan to visit us."
