[BCMA] Municipal support for Museums

Hello,

The Qualicum Beach Museum is a small community museum that has received municipal support for the past 5 years or so in the form of 1% of our municipal taxes.  This translates to just over $30,000.00/year.  We rely on fundraising and other avenues (gift shop, membership, grants) to cover the rest of our operational costs.  The population is approximately 9000.

Hello,

Our board of directors is wondering how much if any, municipal support Museums in small communities receive as a yearly grant, or is the Museum funded by the municipality? Our community is approximately 2500 and we would like to compare notes on this with similarly sized Villages.
