*The Trips live at the Caetani Centre for the final Concert event for the
Summer Music Series! Sunday, September 27, 2 – 4 pm Rain or Shine*!



Hailed by many as the 'Band of the Summer' in the Okanagan for good reason,
The Trips just love to rip it up and have fun with an audience.  They take
many familiar tunes along with their own originals and give them their own
Alternative Bluegrass treatment and the people just love it.

The Trips formed in January 2013 when old friends Jesse Padgett (Banjo) and
Graham Ord (Guitar/Mandolin) contacted Shamma Sabir (Fiddle) with the idea
of forming a Bluegrass band together.  They had all been experienced in the
music business for years and the idea of playing together was very
exciting. Meeting weekly, they took some familiar tunes they all loved and
arranged them for the Banjo, Fiddle and Guitar.  After a couple of months
of jamming together they asked their good friend Joshua Smith (guitar) to
join with the idea that they would all take turns singing, and the three
guys would swap around on the bass.  Graham found an old doghouse bass in
the local paper and Jesse painted a mural on the back and Elvis (the Bass)
joined the band.

The concert is part of local Culture Days celebrations – admission is by
donation.

The public is invited to join the celebrations Sunday, September 27, 2 – 4
pm.
