Billie-Ann Woo Elected President of Roedde House Preservation Society

April 8, 2016, Vancouver, BC: At the recent 2016 Roedde House AGM,
Billie-Ann Woo was elected as President of the Roedde House Preservation
Society. She takes the helm from past President Anthony Norfolk who had held
the position since 2005. 

Billie-Ann has been involved with the Museum since 2012, starting as a tour
docent and steadily gaining experience in Board management through a number
of projects, most notably Chairing the 25th Anniversary Celebrations last
year. The month-long slate of celebrations included evening tours, Farmstead
Day, and the Anniversary Garden Party. She brings to the Museum a strong
background in Marketing, Communications and Event Management and a keen
interesting in museum management, technology, and community engagement. Her
speciality is in digital marketing communications strategy and engagement
and she currently works full-time in marketing in the Aviation sector. 

"I'm looking forward to continuing the work Anthony has done during his
tenure and we have some great plans and ideas in the works for 2016. My goal
for 2016 is to continue to build a foundation of community exchange at the
Museum and I look forward to working with fellow community, cultural,
heritage, and tourism organizations this year," said Billie-Ann. 
Additionally, while Billie-Ann has been on the Board management side of
Roedde House for a number of years, she regularly volunteers to deliver
lively tours as a docent for the Tea & Tour program on Sunday afternoons as
well as being a House representative at local community events. Some of the
projects she has planned involve her personal interests of food education,
music, and exploring history in collaboration with local experts.  

About Roedde House Museum
Roedde House Museum is a restored Victorian mansion in the West End that was
once home to a Vancouver’s first bookbinders and printers. Today, the museum
is both a cultural events venue and a fully interactive site where visitors
can explore the house and see what life was like for a middle-class family
in the late 1800s.
