[BCMA] New Opportunities at the Audain Art Museum

Please find included in this e-mail two new positions at the Audain Art Museum: Development and Member Relations Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development and Member Relations Manager will drive all development activities including: major gifts/sponsorships, museum membership, Museum fundraising events, planned giving, annual giving, strategic partnerships and grants. General requirements are as follows:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Create and implement development strategies including: membership, major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, strategic partnerships, fundraising events, in-kind donations and grants as they relate to organizational priorities, exhibitions and programs.

2.       Develop calendar of activities with associated sponsorship, donation and grant opportunities.

3.       Build, track and manage all relationships including individual, family, corporate and circle memberships, individual philanthropists and sponsors, working in collaboration with the Audain Art Museum Foundation as appropriate.

4.       Create and coordinate communication related to development activities including:  sponsorship proposals and agreements, membership drives, grants and fundraising events.

5.       Research and cultivate prospective sponsors, individual and corporate donors, members and major gifts and assist with identifying revenue targets for budget planning purposes.

6.       Attend events, conferences and workshops in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board members as they relate to development priorities.

7.       Organize fundraising and member events and engage the community of supporters to source donations, in-kind contributions and promote ticket sales.

8.       Develop and manage development operating budget.

Education, Skills and Work Experience Requirements:

*        Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
*        Minimum of 3+ years of fundraising experience. Arts experience is an asset.
*        Sound understanding of fundraising principles.
*        Demonstrate excellent rapport with donors, members, volunteers, Board Members and
          visitors.
*        Superb organizational and project management capabilities and a commitment to
delivering exceptional service.
*        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*        Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
*        Ability to manage multiple projects.
*        Ability to work a varied schedule including occasional travel.
*        Must have a valid BC driver's license and ability to pass a criminal and credit record
check.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for the creation and implementation of all strategic initiatives related to the overall marketing and communications of the AAM and its associated exhibitions designed to drive attendance to the AAM. General requirements are as follows:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.       Responsible for overall marketing and promotions of the Audain Art Museum and its programs including the building, Permanent Collection, special exhibitions, educational programs, Museum Shop and special events.
*        Develop strategies and budgets for the overall marketing of the AAM.
*        Ensure that the AAM brand is relevant in Whistler and the greater Arts community.
*        Develop and execute strategies for bolstering attendance to the AAM.
*        Write and distribute news releases to relevant media outlets.
*        Assist with the promotion and marketing of the Museum Shop to increase sales volumes
and profit margins.
*        Develop and execute strategies to maximize revenues from venue rentals at the AAM.
*        Effectively promote any special events including the annual fundraising gala.

2.       Develop and implement Marketing Strategies for Special Exhibitions.
*        Host brainstorming sessions to develop marketing and sponsorship strategy.
*        Prepare and execute approved marketing strategy.
*        Manage and promote any special events to promote the opening of special exhibitions.

3.       Manage AAM website and develop and execute all on-line social marketing strategies.
*        Ensure accuracy and messaging of AAM website is accurate and relevant.
*        Manage Twitter/Instagram/Facebook accounts to promote AAM and its exhibitions and
programs.
*        Write and distribute monthly AAM e-newsletter.
*        Monitor all relevant travel and tourism sites to ensure the AAM is being promoted.

4.       Oversee community marketing with Whistler tourism partners (Hotels, WB, Tourism Whistler, FAM tours and Tour Operators)
*        Liaise with hotel management and concierge teams to collaborate on cross promotional
opportunities.
*        Meet regularly with all tourism groups and tour operators to promote the AAM.
*        Attend all relevant industry events to build relationships and promote the AAM.
Qualifications:
*        Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
*        Minimum of 5+ years of experience marketing and communications.
*        Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
*        Excellent verbal and written, communication and presentation skills.
*        Established industry contacts and knowledge of marketplace.
*        Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
*        Ability to work a varied schedule including occasional travel.
*        Must have a valid BC driver's license and ability to pass a criminal and credit record check.
