Ninety artists ‘drawn together’ for exhibition at Kelowna Art Gallery


Drawn Together: Annual Members’ Exhibition
November 15, 2016 to February 5, 2017


December 20, 2016 – Kelowna, BC: Ninety local artists answered the call to explore the definition and concept of drawing for this year’s annual members’ exhibition at the Kelowna Art Gallery. The group show is fittingly entitled Drawn Together and submissions in a wide variety of media were welcomed, including painting, sculpture, photography, digital media, and of course, approaches to traditional drawing.

The exhibition is currently on view in the Gallery’s Front project space, which is free and open to the public, and will run until February 5, 2017.

“It is always exciting to see the wide range of works contributed for the annual members’ exhibition,” says Nataley Nagy, Executive Director at the Kelowna Art Gallery. “We are once again thrilled to be able to share these with the community as one of the many ways we give back to our valued members for their ongoing support.”

A 192-page digital publication was produced to accompany Drawn Together. Each of the works was professionally photographed and has been included as a full-page image in the catalogue. Opposite each image is information about the artists including their names, an artist’s statement, and information about their piece. The publication can be viewed on an iPad installed in the exhibition space at the Gallery, or is available online via the Kelowna Art Gallery’s website.

The Kelowna Art Gallery offers four exhibition spaces that showcase changing contemporary and historical Canadian art, and is located at 1315 Water Street in the heart of the Cultural District in downtown Kelowna.
