Good afternoon colleagues,
The AABC was pleased to receive funding from the Documentary Heritage
Communities Program (DHCP) in late 2015. This granting program, facilitated
by Library and Archives Canada, has enabled us to offer FREE workshops to
members in two of our regional areas - Central and Northern Vancouver
Island and the Fraser Valley.
In consultation with members from those regions, two sets of clinics have
been set up and will take place between March 3-9. There are some spaces
still available in the workshops and we invite interested AABC members (or
volunteers/staff from your organization) and other members of the heritage
community to join with us on these learning days!
Details are as follows:
*Clinic 1*
Location: Campbell River Museum, Campbell River, Vancouver Island
Dates: March 3-4, 2016
Time: 9:30am-4:00pm
Workshop topics: Managing Archives (March 3); Arrangement, Description and
RAD Refresher (March 4)
Spaces left: 6
*Clinic 2*
Location: Mission Community Archives, Mission
Dates: March 8-9, 2016
Times: 9:00am-4:00pm
Workshop topics: Arrangement, Description and RAD Refresher (March 8);
Records Management (March 9)
Spaces left: 10
The cost to attend these workshops and accompanying presentation
materials/handouts is FREE!
Please note: participants are responsible for their own travel and/or
accommodation costs to/from the clinics and for lunch on each day. Coffee
breaks will be provided.
If you would like to attend any of these workshops, *please RSVP to *
*aabc.advisor at aabc.ca* <aabc.advisor at aabc.ca>* by Monday, February 29,
2016.*
The AABC gratefully acknowledges the funding and assistance by Library and
Archives Canada and the Government of Canada to make these clinics
possible. *Financé par le gouvernement du Canada. *
If you have any questions about these clinics, please don't hesitate to
contact me.
Best regards,
