Its been a while since I have used "kiosk" software. How about a digital
photo screen instead? There are touch screen versions out there and since
they are dedicated to that one task, they are already set up to show photo's
and video. We use non-touch screen versions in our exhibits and have found
them a simple and inexpensive way to add av content to our displays.
Here is an example of a touch screen version

Subject: [BCMA] museum software question
Hi there,
I am looking for software for a touch screen monitor that will allow a
selection of movies to be played within our interpretive space. It needn't
be anything too fancy, just a start menu screen with the selection of films
and then the ability to pause, stop, rewind, forward.
I'm curious to know what other museums and archives are using, and whether
anyone has any recommendations, positive or negative.
Many thanks,
Jenny.
