[BCMA] Update: How to use the BCMA listserv

Moderated BCMA subscriber listserv. bcma at lists.vifa.ca
Tue Aug 1 14:16:35 PDT 2017

The BCMA provides a forum for members and non-members to post job
opportunities and discuss issues through this listserv. The listserv is
moderated to eliminate spam and commercial messages.

To post a notice on the Listserv, send your post to bcma at lists.vifa.ca and
your message will be deposited directly in over 1000 inboxes across BC. No
instructions on the post are required (such as “Please post this to the
Listserv”), simply write as if you are talking to the entire group.

It is best to include all information within the body of the email rather
than adding attachments as many recipients have InBox size limits. Small
attachments like a low-resolution photo of items or a small PDF are
generally fine to post. The subject line should clearly indicate what your
notice is about (such as “Job Posting: Exhibit Technician” or “Information
required on 1920s dress” or “Solutions for storage?”).

Unless your post invites discussion that would benefit others, please
include your contact information so that members can connect with you
directly.

If you reply to a listserv post, rather than directly to the person who
posted, your reply will be sent to everyone.

I hope this info is helpful for our many new subscribers!

Warm regards,
