TITLE: Executive Director, Point Ellice House Provincial and National
Historic Site
LOCATION: Victoria, BC Canada
SALARY: $40,000/year (.6 FTE) - could be expanded to full time.
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Point Ellice House Preservation Society, manage all aspects
of the Point Ellice House Historic Site to ensure excellence and efficiency
of planning and operations.
Duties:
* Financial management
* Property management and revenue generation
* Curatorial oversight
* Visitors’ Services
* Human Resources
Education and Experience required:
* Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a post-secondary
diploma/degree in cultural resource management, project management, or a
closely related field; AND
* 2-3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role in property
management, at a historic site or comparable visitor destination.
*Experience on a volunteer board, preferably in an Executive position
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Thorough knowledge of:
- principles and practises of property and facility management
- principles and practises of historic parks or museums, and collections
management
- effective administration, including budgeting, h.r. management,
efficient practises.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff,
volunteers, the public,
specialist contractors from many fields, such as conservation experts.
archaeologists,
engineers. building contractors, etc.
- Ability to inspire and provide program and project leadership to Board,
staff, contractors,
and volunteers.
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with initiative and
independently yet within
established policies and procedures,
