[BCMA] NEW Online Workshop: Ask the Audience - Public Participation in Decision-Making, starts Feb 28

The international University of British Columbia (UBC) Centre for Cultural Planning and Development is offering a new online professional development workshop: "Ask the Audience: Public Participation in Decision-Making", starting February 28.

3 Tues Feb 28, Mar 7 & 14 from 9am-11am Pacific Time.

This online workshop focuses on the principles and practices underpinning the trend towards participatory decision-making in the public sector. Learn about the possibilities and challenges in implementing such practices within the culture sector, critically examine tools and techniques to engage the public in decision-making, and learn to apply this knowledge in the context of your own community or organization.

INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Leila Jancovich has worked for over 20 years in the arts and festivals sector as a producer, researcher and policy-maker. During this time, she undertook research and consultancy for Arts Council England, the Cultural Olympiad, and numerous arts organizations. Her most recent publications include 'Great Art for everyone? Engagement and participation policy in the arts' (2011), and 'Cultural Policy in the Public Eye' (2012).
