I showed this to the person our photo guy and he believes it is a glass plate positive imager from the late 1800’s . The plate was probably hand coloured.
He sent this web site that might be of help. https://blog.sciencsandmediamuseum.org.uk/find-out-when-a-photo-wasw-takem-identify-collodion-positive-ambrotype/
Good luck,

Subject: [BCMA] Anyone Know the Name of this Object?
Hello BCMAers,
A member of the public brought by an artifact today that we need help putting a name to. It’s thin case with a metal clasp. One half of the case holds a colour tinted glass plate negative and the other holds a mirror. When light is shone on the glass plate negative it reflects the image into the mirror, recreating the image but with a sense of depth. (Images attached of the item open.)
It’d be great to put a name to this artifact so we can search for other examples of it and put it into wider context. We’ve never seen anything like it before.
Cheers,
