Family Saturday, Black Cat Mono-Prints Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky

Saturday October 28 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm | $5-$7

Join us this month and learn how to create spooky black cat mono-prints inspired by Wassily Kandinsky! First, we will create our cat design and learn about drawing stylized animals. Then we will use the print-making press to create our design and mount it on cardstock so it can be used as a card! Call 250-545-3173 to book your spot or pre-register online at www.vernonpublicartgallery.com as space is limited.

Mini Artists

Monday October 30 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Calling all young creatives! Join us on the last Monday of every month for a diverse exploration of art-making materials and art processes through age-appropriate art activities. We invite parents and guardians to bring their little ones under the age of 5 to explore art making with non-toxic materials in this fun and social program that encourages creative self-expression while developing fine and gross motor skills and sensory awareness. All are welcome to create, and make sure you dress for mess! Parents must accompany children for the duration of the session, admission is by donation. For more information please contact our Education Coordinator Kelsie at 250-545-3173 or email her at admin at vernonpublicartgallery.com<mailto:admin at vernonpublicartgallery.com>

This month we will start our session off by engaging with Sheldon Louis’ paintings in his exhibition titled Ancestors of the Columbia. Inspired by his bright, bold, and graphic paintings, we will head to the classroom to paint our own Salmon paintings using acrylic paint and organic items to add texture and detail.

Tuesday October 31 @ 3-5 p.m.

Stop by the gallery for some Halloween treats as a part of the Downtown Vernon Halloween Treat Trail.
