NOW HIRING: Public and Education Program Assistant at MOA

The UBC Museum of Anthropology is hiring a Public and Education Program Assistant. The student assistant will work directly with the Curators of Education and Public Programs to plan and implement a range of education and public programs for two major exhibitions. The job entails working alongside professional staff to research to design and deliver family-friendly public program for a summer exhibition and to develop an educational program for a long-term exhibition. The work entails both independent and collaborative work with professional museum staff and external artists and community members.

Applicants must be engaged in post-secondary schooling. An emphasis in arts, culture, history, anthropology or education an asset.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to:

  *   do independent research skills 

  *   work in groups and individually 

  *   assist or show experience in designing and implementing public events 

  *   write well and communicate e ectively 

  *   use Word, Excel or similar software 

  *   work with the general public including families 



Deadline for application: May 4, 2018
Position runs: May 22 – July 28, 2018 

35 hrs a week, 10 weeks
Hourly rate: $16.00
