Ever wonder how to care for your industrial artefacts but don’t know where
to begin? Join us for a day of learning about the care and maintenance of
industrial artefacts. This hands-on workshop will provide you with the
knowledge and confidence to move forward with developing a preventative
conservation and treatment plan for your collection.



This workshop will provide you with:

·        Overview of the care and conservation of industrial artifacts

·         Basic understanding between restoration, conservation,
preservation and maintenance

·         How to develop a maintenance plan for a specific artefact or your
entire collection

·         An understanding of conservation terms and resources

·         Information about impact of the environment on industrial
artefacts

·         Information about wood, metal as well as mixed materials care

·         Documentation and condition reporting tips

·         Proper techniques and hands-on training from a professional
conservator





This training is suitable for both museum professionals and volunteers
responsible for industrial collections.



Participants should dress appropriately for the weather as half the day
will be outside working on agricultural industrial artefacts.





Ticket prices:      $75 for non-BCMA members

$50 for BCMA members
