Curatorial Assistant
Paid internship through Young Canada Works Building Careers in Heritage
Sept 4, 2018 - March 29, 2018
Full-time, $15/hour
Touchstones Nelson: Museum of Art and History is seeking an intern through the Young Canada Works Building Careers in Heritage program to act as Curatorial Assistant, working with the organization's Curator, Arin Fay.
The Curatorial Assistant, under the supervision of the Curator, will be responsible for grant writing; policy-making; research; marketing; curatorial assistance; and program development. The Curatorial Assistant will be knowledgeable of current curatorial methodologies, and interested in enhancing their career in the public gallery and/or museum sector.
Skills and requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Curatorial Studies, Art History, Museum Studies, or equivalent
- Excellent computer skills - particular interest in film, marketing and social media an asset
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Excellent knowledge of contemporary Canadian art.
- The candidate must meet all Young Canada Works eligibility requirements
