[BCMA] Mariel Belanger Performance and Artist Talk at O'Keefe Ranch

Hello BCMA Community,

Join us on Wednesday, July 25th for a performance and artist talk with
Mariel Belanger. Her exhibition, 'The Earth Re Claimed Her' is on view in
the Greenhow Museum at O'Keefe Ranch until September 30.

Belanger invites visitors on her intensely personal navigation between the
worlds of settler and sqilxw. She seeks to Re Claim the title of Indian
Princess--one that she admits is an imagined persona that she has both
hated and pitied. In the end, Belanger is simply able to remind us she's
not the Indian Princess we expected.

The evening will begin with an introduction in the Greenhow Museum where
visitors can view Belanger's exhibition and artwork installation. We will
then gather in the General Store to view her performance. This event is
standing room only, and small hand fans and water are encouraged (there is
no air conditioning).
