Colleagues,
The Archives Association of British Columbia is pleased to announce that
registration is now open for *"Access and Accountability 2018"*, a
conference aimed at examining the role of archivists and records managers
in facilitating access and promoting accountability through our records and
information resources.
This 1-day conference will be held on Friday, April 13 in Victoria, BC at
the Royal BC Museum and Archives. The AABC AGM will immediately follow at
the end of the conference sessions. An evening social in downtown Victoria
will follow the AGM.
The pre-conference workshop "Archives for GLAM Professionals" will be held
on Thursday, April 12 at the RBCM. This workshop will introduce Gallery,
Library and Museum professionals to the mystery of archival theory,
appraisal rationale, processing and storage best practices, and how to
provide secure access to the archival records in your holdings.

We are pleased to offer our BCLA and BCMA colleagues member rates for the
workshop and conference registration.
*Pre-conference Workshop Fee:*
AABC/BCLA/BCMA Members = $180.00 ; Non-members = $230.00 ; Students =
$180.00
*Conference Fee:*
AABC/BCLA/BCMA Members = $125.00 ; Non-members = $175.00 ; Students = $50.00
*Accommodations:* No accomodations have been reserved for the conference.
The conference venue is in downtown Victoria, close to a number of
accommodation options and price points (i.e. Empress Hotel or DoubleTree
Hotel). Attendees are responsible for making their own travel/hotel
arrangements for this event.
