[BCMA] Contract opportunity with Heritage Branch

Heritage Branch in the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is responsible for the stewardship of provincially owned historic properties, including the following properties that are managed by third party site operators:
1. Point Ellice House
2. Craigflower Manor
3. Craigflower Schoolhouse
4. Fort Steele Heritage Town
5. Cottonwood House
Heritage Branch is looking for a consultant to deliver the following services:
- Review existing Statements of Significance for Point Ellice House, Craigflower Manor, Craigflower Schoolhouse, Fort Steele Heritage Town and Cottonwood House
- Conduct archival and literature research on the aesthetic, historic, scientific, cultural, social or spiritual significance of the properties for past, present and future generations.
- Engage with relevant communities to identify community heritage values associated with the sites. Particular emphasis should be given to Indigenous communities and communities whose stories have not been told.
- Develop a new Statement of Significance for each property. The Statement of Significance needs to meet the criteria of the Canadian Register of Historic Places and is expected to reflect multiple perspectives and community heritage values, as identified in the research and engagement processes described above.
