Colleagues,

Do you love the photographs in your collection but feel stressed about how
to deal with them? Not sure what to do with boxes of photos that need to be
organized and appraised? You've got digital image concerns and questions
about how to best manage them?

The AABC's popular "Managing Archival Photographs" may be the course for
you!

Over the course of 10 weeks, students will learn about appraising
photographs, accessioning and arrangement, RAD-compliant description,
preservation best practices, reference and outreach, and digitization. Each
related module will be supported by a set of self-study questions and a
small project. Students can expect to work 10-12 hours a week for the
duration of the course and all assignments are completed online.

*Registration:* October 1 - November 23, 2018

*Course duration:* January 7 - March 18, 2019
* Limit:  20 students *

*Instructor:* Lisa Glandt, AABC Education and Advisory Services Coordinator

*Cost:* AABC members $350.00 (CAD) / Non-member $500.00 (CAD); plus the
cost of the course textbook

*Textbook: *Mary Lynn Ritzenthaler. *Photographs: Archival Care and
Management * (SAA, 2006). Students will be able to purchase the publication
at the SAA member's price of $59.95 (USD) plus the cost of applicable
shipping. Students will receive textbook ordering details once they
register for the course.
