[BCMA] Tax receipt for American Citizen....

James,
You will need a US-based charity under 501(c)3 designation to a issue tax
receipt for a US donation.
You can try contacting the Charities  Aid Foundation (Canada) to act as an
intermediary but this might involve registering with them at a cost of more
than $1k. The Bateman Foundation used them for such a transaction.
