*Archives Take Action: Taking steps to respond to the Truth and
Reconciliation Commission Calls for Action for provincial and community
archives*

The BC Archives holds a significant number of records relating to
Indigenous peoples and communities. As part of its commitment to responding
to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, BC Archives
staff is reaching out to Indigenous communities to share information about
archival holdings, assist with inquiries and access to cultural heritage,
and work to improve descriptive standards to better represent Indigenous
people and records. In addition to the language used to discuss Indigenous
records, staff is also working with community members to identify records
with cultural privacy restrictions or requirements.

Genevieve Weber leads this informative webinar that will be of interest to
Indigenous and non-Indigenous persons and organizations alike.

All are welcome to join in this webinar to learn about the BC Archives work
in Indigenous communities, how to access records of your community or
family, or how to apply these concepts to your cultural institution or
community archive.
