Did you know that the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) provides
scientific services free of charge to Canadian institutions caring for
public collections? Whether you want to understand the degradation process
affecting an object or determine the composition of original materials,
ancient or modern, our conservation scientists can help. CCI scientists
also provide onsite services for a fixed fee.

CCI aims to serve a broad array of institutions across the country.
However, since we are the only place in Canada that offers such specialized
services, demand is high. Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the
project, the number of samples or objects and the workload of the
scientists at the time of the request. Please provide sufficient time for
us to answer your questions in a timely manner.

Saviez-vous que les institutions canadiennes responsables du soin de
collections publiques ont accès gratuitement aux services scientifiques de
l’Institut canadien de conservation (ICC)? Qu’il s’agisse de comprendre le
phénomène de dégradation touchant un objet ou de déterminer la composition
de matériaux originaux, anciens ou modernes, nos scientifiques en
conservation peuvent vous aider. Les scientifiques de l’ICC offrent aussi
des services sur place moyennant un prix fixe.

L’ICC a pour objectif de servir une vaste gamme d’établissements d’un bout
à l’autre du pays. Toutefois, puisqu’il s’agit du seul endroit au Canada à
offrir de tels services spécialisés, la demande est grande. Le délai
d’exécution d’un service dépend de la complexité du projet, du nombre
d’échantillons ou d’objets et de la charge de travail des scientifiques au
moment de la demande. Veuillez donc prévoir un délai suffisant pour que
nous puissions répondre à vos questions en temps opportun.
