Hello BCMA!
We've been in touch with a donor who metal detects regularly here has what
he says are bullets from the 1860s-1870. A quick google search suggested the
same to me in broad strokes. We know that there was a international boundary
survey camp around there established by the Americans in the late 1850s. The
general area was the terminus of the Fort Langley and Semiahmoo Trails, and
White Rock was a popular place to hunt birds.
I don't have the expertise to formally appraise and confirm that these are
in fact from this period, but it seems very plausible. I've attached a
photo, and there are a few additional items as well as the bullets.
Does anyone have any suggestions about where I can go to get some
confirmation of the time period and ID for these items?
Thank you so much!
